The Postman Always Brings Bad News - framed acrylic and collage on board - 20 x 24 inches

Measuring 20 x 24 inches and supplied framed, 'The Postman Always Brings Bad News' is a reflection of the decline of the use of letters as a means of communication between family, friends and acquaintances. Instead letters are now primarily bills or other bad news.

This artwork has a collage of used postage stamps as the background layer, each one cut by hand from an envelope. A layer of transparent blue was applied over some of this, followed by an opaque red-orange layer.

The supplied frame is a charcoal grey floating frame and is fitted with hanging hardware so all you need to do is decide where to hang the artwork.

This artwork was created between February and May 2022 and exhibited for the first time at Parallax Art Fair, London 1st-3rd July 2022.
